Sultanpur : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday took stock of the preparations ahead of the proposed visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 16 to inaugurate the Poorwanchal Expressway in the state.
The CM said that eastern UP was neglected since independence but now it is developing under the tenure of PM Narendra Modi.
He said that Poorvanchal Expressway will become the backbone of the economy of eastern UP.
On this new expressway, the work of developing industrial corridors at eight places has already been started.
A three-and-a-half km air strip has been built on the expressway and on the inauguration day an air show will also be held there.
CM Yogi said that in July 2018, the foundation stone was laid by the Prime Minister and its construction was completed in record time of 19 months amid the corona pandemic.
He said that soon the work of Bundelkhand Expressway will also be completed.
The CM held a review meeting with the officers of the Indian Air Force, district administration, public representatives, executive body at the camp office of UPEDA. The CM also took full stock of the program on November 16.
On November 16, in the presence of the Prime Minister, fighter jets will perform an air show for about 30 minutes.
More than 20 fighter jets will land on the airstrip built in Arvalkiri Karwat area of the expressway. People will get to see the amazing feats of the fighter planes like Sukhoi, SU 30, Mirage 2000, Jaguar etc on this expressway.
This is the second air strip in the state on the expressway, where fighter planes can land in case of emergency. A similar air strip has been built on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway earlier.
