Meerut : Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that youths are the champions of New India and will lead the country in times ahead.
The world too will throw its weight behind the youths of the country.
” Youths are the rulers and leaders of New India,. Our youth today have the heritage of antiquity and they also have a sense of modernity. So, where these youth will run, India will follow. Similarly where India will go, the world will follow it,” he claimed.
PM was speaking at a function here in Sardhana area after laying the foundation stone for Rs 700 crore Major Dhyan Chand Sports university on Sunday in presence of UP governor Anandiben Patel, chief minister Yogi Aditynath, deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and other political leaders of western UP.
On the occasion, the PM made a scathing attack on the opposition and the previous governments alleging that,” five years ago, the daughters of the Meerut were afraid to leave their homes after dusk.Our people of Meerut and adjoining areas can never forget that people’s houses were burnt and the earlier government was busy in its game.It was the result of the game of the earlier governments that people were forced to leave their ancestral home and migrate.”
” But now Yogi ji’s government is playing ‘jail-jail’ game with such criminals. Today the daughters of Meerut are bringing laurels to the entire country.
He said in the earlier governments, criminals used to play their game in UP, and the mafia used to play their game.” Earlier there used to be tournaments of illegal possession, those who made remarks on daughters roamed freely. But now the situation has completely changed in the Yogi regime.”
The PM said Meerut and its surrounding region has also contributed significantly in giving a new direction to independent India.” Be it sacrifices on the border for the defense of the nation or respect for the nation in the playground, this field has kept the flame of patriotism lit,” he added.
” Here the game with vehicles in Soti Ganj market of Meerut is also coming to an end and now the real game is getting promoted in UP.The youth of UP are getting a chance to be immersed in the world of sports,” he said.
” In the past years, our government has given top priority to the players of India to get the four weapons of– Resources, modern training facilities,international exposure and transparency in selections. For sports in the country, it is necessary that our youth should have faith in sports and should be encouraged to make sports their profession,Mr Modi said.
The PM said ,” I want our youth to look at sports as well as other professions which is my dream. In the new National Education Policy that is being implemented, priority has been given to sports. Sports have now been kept in the same category as science, commerce or other studies. Earlier sports were considered as extra activities, but now sports schools will have a specific subject. For sports in the country, it is necessary that our youth should have faith in sports and should be encouraged to make sports their profession.
He said,” Yogi ji’s government is making record government appointments of youth. Thousands of youth who got training from ITI have been given employment in big companies. Be it National Apprenticeship Scheme or Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, lakhs of youth have been given its benefit.”
PM said the role of governments is like that of a guardian and the double engine government was doing everything.” If you spread your one hand, you can have Yogijee in Lucknow while if you spread your other hand, you will find me in Delhi. So there is nothing to worry about your future.”
Addressing the strong cane farmers of western UP, Mr Modi said those who were in power earlier made you crave the price of sugarcane in installments and during the previous two governments, the farmers did not get as much as the sugarcane farmers have been paid under Yogi ji’s government.
He claimed that during the four and a half year, Rs 12,000 crore were paid to the cane farmers for ethanol.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
Before laying the foundation port of the sports university, PM also visited martyrs memorial and prayed at the Aurghanath and Kali Paltan temple.
Due to bad weather PM had to reach Meerut by road.
